The City of Depths: A Chestertonian Pilgrimage to the Eternal City in the Heart of Italy

Our Roccasecca Project co-founder and vice president, Fr. Howe invites you to join him on pilgrimage in Italy this Spring! He worked with a wonderful pilgrimage company called Verso Ministries to design this completely custom pilgrimage.

The focus will be on the inexhaustible city of Rome and a handful of other excursions in the footsteps of St. Benedict, St. Thomas Aquinas, St. Catherine of Siena and St. Francis and St. Claire of Assisi.

This is of special significance for friends of the Roccasecca Project because one of the destinations along the way will be the rocky hilltop town of Roccasecca. There will sites in Rome associated with St. Thomas Aquinas’ life and legacy. One of the lenses for the trip will be some of the unique insights of G.K. Chesterton about the depth of meaning of Rome.

The dates of this adventure into the depths of our Catholic patrimony are April 27-May 7. More information about the trip is at: https://versoministries.com/departures/holy-cross-italy-april-2026/

Whether you have been to Italy before or not, this will be an exceptional time of prayer, fellowship, discovery and spiritual growth, including an opportunity to receive the blessing of Pope Leo XIV and experience Italy in the beauty of the Easter Season.
